No script. No prep. Just five Pathcutters virtual assistants, a bowl full of questions, and some very honest answers about what it’s really like to work as a VA in Bacolod.
Five Pathcutters VAs. Fifteen questions. Zero filter.
If you want to know what working somewhere is really like, don’t ask the brochure. Ask the people who show up every day.
That’s exactly what we did. We invited five of our Pathcutters VAs, filled a bowl with fifteen questions about their work, their teammates, and everyday office life — and let them pull at random. The result was one of the most fun, and genuinely revealing, videos we’ve made.
• Being a VA is a skill-based career — communication, organisation, and adaptability are not optional extras, they’re the job.
• Proactivity is the trait clients value most. The best VAs think three steps ahead.
• Working office-based at Pathcutters Affordable Staff means you’re never working alone — the team culture is a genuine daily perk.
• Soft skills matter as much as technical ones. Reliability and clear communication build client trust faster than any tool.
• The small wins — a client saying “great job,” a clear inbox, a laugh at lunch — are what make the work feel worth it every day.
The culture questions were where things got personal. Asked to describe the office in one word, the five VAs between them said: supportive, genuine, fun, family, and growth. No two the same — but all pointing in the same direction.
The question about who makes them laugh the most produced the most animated responses of the afternoon. Nobody named names, but it was very clear that this is not a quiet office. Events came up too — Ozball season, the Valentine’s Day donuts, activities exactly like this one. They’re not just things on a calendar here; they’re part of how the team stays connected.
When asked what they enjoy most about coming into the office, the energy of the place was mentioned more than once. The feeling of being around people who are working hard and genuinely enjoying themselves at the same time. That combination is rarer than it sounds.
Ask questions early. Be proactive, not reactive. Don’t underestimate how much your consistency and reliability matter to a client. Show up every day, with intention.
Simple things, honestly. But said by people who’ve learned them through experience rather than a training manual — which makes them land differently.
